Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Trade, Jerry Sambuaga, has criticized the European Union's attempts to suppress Indonesian palm oil products, arguing that the EU's stance is driven by trade competition rather than environmental concerns. Sambuaga pointed out that not all EU countries oppose Indonesian palm oil, with Switzerland being a significant consumer. He suggested that the EU's actions are discriminatory, given that Indonesian palm oil is cheaper than the EU's rapeseed vegetable oil. Sambuaga confirmed that Indonesia will continue to challenge the EU's stance at the World Trade Organization, expressing confidence in winning the lawsuit.
