The National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa) in Argentina has prevented 11 commercial loads of fruit and vegetables from entering the Fruit Fly Free Area of General Roca due to the detection of fruit fly larvae in grapefruits. The initial seizure of 528 kilograms of grapefruits led to the rejection of an additional 1,648 kilograms across 11 loads and prompted alerts to reinforce preventive controls. This action is part of the quarantine system's efforts to maintain the region's sanitary status and protect its international recognition as a Fruit Fly Free Area.
