The European Parliament adopted the European Union budget for 2026, which sets commitments at 192.77 billion euros and payments at 190.1 billion euros, including funds from special instruments. 419 MEPs voted in favor of the budget, 185 voted against, and 53 abstained. Once finally adopted, the budget will come into force on January 1, 2026. Thus, for the next year, the EU will have 192.77 billion euros for commitments, which represents a decrease of 3.3 percent compared to the 2025 budget. For unforeseen expenses, 715.7 million euros have been allocated. To create new opportunities, especially for young farmers, funding for measures to promote European agricultural products under the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund has been increased by 105 million euros in line with the Parliament's position.
