Between July 1 and 13, European Union member states have reduced soft wheat exports by 78% compared to the same period of the previous agricultural season, down to 245,700 tons, according to European Commission data.
The largest buyers of soft wheat produced in the EU are Algeria with 63,000 tons, Cameroon with 51,700 tons, and Lebanon with 30,000 tons.
Compared to the beginning of the previous agricultural season, there has been a decline in exports of other grains as well. Barley exports have decreased by 26% to 360,600 tons, corn exports by 63% to 18,200 tons, and durum wheat exports have halved to 2,800 tons.
Overall, grain and grain product exports from the EU from the beginning of the 2025-2026 agricultural season are estimated at 682,300 tons, which is 63% less compared to the same period of the previous season.
