In 2020, Peruvian fresh orange exports saw a significant increase, with a 36% rise in volume and a 46% increase in value compared to the previous year, totaling 29,297 tons and US $ 12.13 million respectively. This surge was primarily due to increased productivity in off-camp months, including June, July, and November. The world price for Peruvian citrus also increased by 7% to US $ 0.41 per kilogram. The United Kingdom and the Netherlands were the primary markets, accounting for 82% of the shares, with the Netherlands ranking Peru as the eleventh supplier of oranges. The highest prices per kilogram were paid by El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Honduras.
