The federal government launched, this Friday, 31, the notice for the resumption of the works on the Transnordestina Railway, in Pernambuco. The bidding process foresees an investment of R$ 200 million for the execution of the works on a 73-kilometer stretch between the municipalities of Custódia and Arcoverde. The stretch, identified as Lot SPS 04, is part of the strategic route that connects Salgueiro to the Port of Suape and also covers the municipalities of Sertânia and Buíque. The resumption of the Pernambuco branch was included in the New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC). It is expected that the works of this lot will generate approximately 6,000 direct and indirect jobs, with a contract period stipulated at 57 months. In Pernambuco, 179 kilometers of the railway are already completed, which represents 38% of the total work in the state.
