On December 12, the General Administration of Customs website updated the list of fresh fruit varieties and exporting countries/regions that have gained access to China's inspection and quarantine, adding 13 types of fruit from 8 countries at once. These are: Korean persimmons, Laotian durians, Iranian kiwifruits, South African stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, and prunes), Zimbabwean blueberries, Rwandan avocados, Portuguese pears, Peruvian pomegranates, and bananas. Korean persimmons have been requesting export access since 2008, and after 17 years, they have finally gained approval. The General Administration of Customs has not yet released the relevant plant quarantine requirements notice. The Korean side stated that the packaging factories are still pending inspection by China, and the first export will commence next year.
