The Ministry of Agriculture in Morocco has made decisions to limit the rising prices of food by banning the export of tomatoes, onions, and potatoes. This move, intended to benefit citizens, has angered exporters, particularly the Moroccan Association of Exporters of Various Commodities to Africa and abroad. The association criticizes the government's "unilateral decision," claiming it will lead to the suspension of exports to African markets, resulting in financial difficulties for merchants and potential legal issues with suppliers. The exporters have warned the Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad al-Siddiqi, of the negative impacts of high costs of essentials for farmers, such as fertilizers, medicines, and the effects of the heat wave, which could lead to farmers abandoning their crops.
