REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Sudaryono, affirms that the government will regulate cassava and tapioca imports to support farmers' spirit by ensuring fair selling prices and supporting their welfare improvement. The Deputy Minister, met in Jakarta on Wednesday (28/5/2025), conveyed that tapioca and cassava imports will be regulated through various mechanisms such as limited import restrictions (lartas), commodity balance, or import tariffs, in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's directives. "What is clear, what I can update, is that tapioca imports will be regulated. Whether through lartas (restrictions and limitations), commodity balance, or import tariffs," said Sudaryono. He stated that this import regulation aims to ensure cassava farmers receive good selling prices, maintaining their motivation to plant and meet domestic production needs.
