The European Union has once again postponed by one year the implementation of the anti-deforestation regulation that requires its importers to certify that the food they purchase does not come from deforested fields after 2020. For European importers, assembling this certification is a major headache, but the requirement—which will now take effect from 2027—is also a significant concern for the beef and soy supply chains in Argentina.
