In addition to low grain prices, farmers - at least in some regions of the country - have been burdened with significant problems related to the corn harvest. This is due to still boggy grounds. As reported by the Polish Press Agency (PAP), most farmers who cultivate corn in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship are waiting for dry, frosty weather. Then they will be able to harvest the corn still remaining in many fields. "There's no way to do it now," said PAP representative of the Warmian-Masurian Agricultural Chamber (WMIR) Łukasz Pergoł, who has corn crops near Działdowo. So far, due to the wet, boggy grounds, it is difficult to drive heavy machinery there - combines and agricultural tractors. Some farmers from northern Mazovia signaled the same problem in recent contacts with our editorial office.
