The restoration of grain trade between Russia and Japan has led to an increase in Russian grain supplies to Japan, which had ceased in 2010 due to a Russian export embargo. In July 2023, Japan's grain imports from Russia increased by 5680% compared to the same month last year. However, the President of the Russian Grain Union, Arkady Zlochevsky, emphasized that the increase is not significant in terms of volume, as Russian grain exports to Japan have always been small.
