The National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa) in Argentina is reminding fruit producers in northern Patagonia of the importance of controlling and monitoring Cydia pomonella (Carpocapsa) throughout the production process, from establishment to packaging and conditioning. This is particularly important for establishments registered in the Work Plan for the export of apples, pears, and quinces to Brazil. Producers are required to report weekly trap net readings to the Integrated Traceability Management System (SIGTraza) and ensure that necessary procedures such as the Sexual Confusion Technique are in place. Failure to follow these procedures can lead to suspension or exclusion of packing and cold storage establishments from the work plan.
