This month, the IGC raised its forecast for global maize production in 2025/26 by 1 million tons to 1.298 billion tons, higher than last year's 1.238 billion tons (last month's forecast was 1.239 billion tons). This month, the EU maize production forecast was raised by 300,000 tons to 56.7 million tons, but it is still lower than last year's 59.1 million tons.
Global maize usage is expected to be 1.288 billion tons, unchanged from last month's forecast; last year's usage was revised down to 1.247 billion tons, with last month's forecast at 1.248 billion tons.
Global maize ending stocks were raised to 300 million tons, higher than last month's forecast of 299 million tons and higher than last year's 290 million tons.
