(Daejeon=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Jun-ho = The Korea Forest Service announced on the 24th that it has selected five export-promising companies that will lead the entry of domestic forest products into overseas markets.
At the awards ceremony held at the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute in Seoul on the same day, the agricultural corporation Homesrang, which introduced a vegetable rice product containing four types of Gangwon-do mountain vegetables—kondere, gomchi, chamchi, and eosuri—won the grand prize.
The agricultural corporation Seo-ga's Hanipdoraji, the agricultural corporation Samdawon's fermented mountain yam, and Pureuda Forest Landscaping's Deckrod system each received gold awards, and the agricultural corporation Keundeul's omija-cheong stick received the innovation award.
The Korea Forest Service plans to provide approximately 100 billion won in support for overseas market development activities next year to help the award-winning companies open up sales channels through promotion and marketing in the countries of their choice.
Nam Song-hee, the International Forestry Cooperation Director of the Korea Forest Service, said, "In the future, we will not spare any effort in supporting the discovery of high-quality processed forest products and the active entry of our companies into overseas markets."
