Turkey's anchovy exports have seen a decline in the last 1.5 months, earning around 401 thousand 719 dollars from 160 thousand 838 kilograms of anchovy, primarily to Germany, due to high prices and insufficient supply. Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, Vice Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union, suggests postponing the start of the fish season by a month to allow for more anchovy production and to prevent overfishing and damage to the seabed. He also emphasizes the need for sustainable fishing practices and healthier business decisions for the benefit of future generations.
