[Livestock and Fisheries News=Reporter Hong Jeong-min] Amid the ongoing restrictions on the export of Korean beef and pork due to diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease, there is a call for efforts to standardize quality and reduce price fluctuations, as well as to improve the relatively low brand recognition compared to competitor countries. The Korea Meat Importers and Exporters Association held a "Korean Beef and Pork Export Forum" in its meeting room on the 16th, where participating exporters discussed focused measures to expand exports while voicing difficulties in expanding exports. Sales Director Cho Kyu-yong of Taewoo Green Food said, "In the Hong Kong market, Japan is using a marketing strategy to sell Wagyu beef at a lower price than Korean beef, and we currently have no response strategy."
