ICEX has released a market study on the meat product industry in Oman for 2022, which was prepared by Waed Al-Habbal of the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Muscat. The study covers various aspects such as the sector's definition, supply and demand, pricing, and the perception of Spanish products. It also explores distribution channels, market access, and opportunities. The study highlights that meat products, including beef, sheep, goat, and horse meat, account for nearly one-third of Oman's food expenditure. The industry, which is regulated by halal regulations, saw sales of $809 million in 2019 and $888 million in 2020 and is projected to grow at an average rate of 12.8% from 2021 to 2025, reaching over $1,000 million in 2025.
