The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has reassured the public that the loss of livestock due to recent floods is negligible, with the total number of dead animals representing a fraction of the country's farm animal population. As of May 16, 2024, the ministry reported a total of 10,258 dead animals across various regions. Despite the flood impact, the country's transport and trade logistics remain intact, ensuring the free movement of livestock products and their processed counterparts from one region to another. This situation prevents any significant meat shortage or price surge due to the flood-related losses, though a slight increase in meat prices in line with inflation is still possible.
