The price of olive oil is expected to increase throughout the campaign, initially due to the early harvest of higher quality and secondly due to the lower crop prospects due to lack of rain, according to the sector. The average price at origin of olive oil has stood at 4.16 euros per liter in the last week, according to the portal Poolred, while the Infaoliva Price Observatory reflects a quotation of 4.8 euros for extra virgin, 3.6 euros for virgin, and 3.5 euros for lampante. These prices have remained stable since the official start of the harvest on October 1, except for the extra virgin, which began selling at 4 euros per liter and these days is collecting the "premium" effect.
