France has seen an overall increase in the cultivation of winter cereals, with notable rises in soft wheat, common wheat, and barley, reaching a total of 6.8 million hectares, which is higher than both the previous year and the 2018-2022 average. However, there has been a decrease in the cultivation of durum wheat and oats, with a 4.8% drop for durum wheat and a significant 10% drop for oats. The winter rapeseed area has also seen an increase, rising by 9.0% compared to the previous year and by 10.9% compared to the five-year average. The production of grain maize and sunflowers has been adjusted, with grain maize production now standing at 10.8 Mt, and feed maize production increased to 13.7 Mt due to an expansion in area and improved performance. Meanwhile, sunflower production has been slightly reduced to 1.78 Mt, in accordance with a lower yield of 20.6 q/ha.
