The Region of Murcia produces half of the melons exported by Spain

Murcia (EFEAGRO). The Minister of Agriculture, Sara Rubira, said this Friday, after visiting the melon processing facilities of the Medifruver company, in Torre Pacheco, that the Region of Murcia produces half of the melons exported by the whole of Spain, with a 49.7 percent of the economic value and 49.5 percent of the total tons. As for the main destinations, Germany, with 46 million euros in sales, is the main country to which melons from the Region of Murcia are exported, followed by France, with 42 million euros, and the Netherlands, with sales that exceed 21 million euros.
