On May 16, 2024, Russia and China signed protocols to facilitate the export of Jerusalem artichoke and new types of beef by-products, such as cartilage, aortas, and stomachs, to China. The agreements, signed by Sergei Dankvert of Rosselkhoznadzor and Yu Jianhua of the General Administration of Customs of China, aim to boost the profitability of Russian beef production and strengthen trade relations between the two nations. Notably, Russian beef by-product exports to China have already doubled in early 2024 compared to the same period last year.
