The EEC Council has decided to exempt chicken eggs from import customs duties for the first half of 2024, allowing for the delivery of up to 1.2 billion units to the Russian Federation. This benefit will apply to both Turkish and Iranian suppliers, in response to increased consumer demand and a decrease in domestic production. The decision comes in the wake of a sharp increase in egg prices in Russia, which has led to government scrutiny and measures to control pricing and ensure adequate supply.
