In a move to stabilize tomato prices within its domestic market, the Russian Cabinet has enacted a government order that will remain in effect until May 31, 2024. This decision underscores Russia's significant position as one of the top five global tomato importers, having imported 28,300 tons of tomatoes from China in 2022 alone. The primary aim of this measure is to bolster the domestic supply of tomatoes, thereby ensuring price stability for consumers.
