The sea worm breeding facility located in Ayvacık district of Çanakale is drawing attention due to being the only one of its kind in the sector. The sea worm breeding facility in Gülpınar village of Ayvacık district has the unique characteristic of being the only one in the sector. Resulting from 10 years of R&D work, the facility, which is the sole lugworm producer in this field in Turkey, has an annual production capacity of 35 tons. Established on a 20,350 square meter private property, the facility consists of a total of 210 rectangular ponds, each 55 square meters in size. This production capacity is equally divided between the species, 17.5 tons for Arinicola Marina and 17.5 tons for Perinereis Aibuhitensis.
