A new law in Russia, effective from November 1, 2022, until August 1, 2025, limits the export of red caviar from Kamchatka region. This regulation limits individuals to no more than 10 kilograms per plane. The legislation is part of an effort to combat the illegal production of red caviar, which has surged in recent years, endangering salmon and other fish species. Renat Suleymanov, a member of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues, highlighted that the export restriction is designed to reduce poaching activities.
