The sugar beet harvest has begun

The harvest period for sugar beets, one of the most important sources of income for farmers in Vezirköprü district of Samsun, has begun. The 2025-2026 sugar beet season opened with purchases made at the scales in the district. The beet harvest is expected to continue until December. Across Vezirköprü, sugar beet producers delivered 5,000 tons of harvested beets to purchase centers. If the expected 50,000-ton crop is realized from the 8,000 decares of sugar beet cultivated land in the district, it is anticipated that the economic income will be approximately 150-200 million lira.
