In Ukrainian farms, there is an increasing trend of abandoning sunflower cultivation, as it is losing its profitability along with the decline in yield in recent years. This opinion was expressed by Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Vladyslav Cherchel, a professor at the Institute of Cereal Crops of the NAAS, during a roundtable discussion "The Most Profitable Crops in 2026: What Farmers Should Grow," organized by the All-Ukrainian Congress of Farmers.
