[Agricultural, Fisheries, and Livestock Newspaper=Reporter Nara Park] The Chungnam Provincial Assembly (Chairperson Hong Sung-hyun) has established its first management ordinance to systematically conserve the Chungnam tidal flats, which are increasingly at risk of degradation. The "Tidal Flat Conservation and Management Ordinance" proposed by Representative Byeon Sam-beom passed the review of the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Ocean Committee on the 3rd, marking the first step in establishing a legal foundation. This ordinance was formulated in response to the reality that the ecological safety of Chungnam's tidal flats is threatened by climate change, reclamation and development, and rising sea levels. Although Chungnam's tidal flats account for 13.7% of the nation's total, the area of domestic tidal flats has been continuously decreasing over the past 20 years, making the urgency for conservation ever more pressing. The ordinance includes △Basic plan for conservation and management.
