"The total soybean harvest may exceed 9 million tons" - Alexey Marmornov

In comments to Agro-Investor, the commercial director of UK "Sodruzhestvo" (the largest soybean processor in the country), Alexey Mramornov, says that higher soybean yields in the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as good harvest results in the Central Federal District, are already becoming more evident. "However, we are taking into account the factor of the late start of the harvest, which may lead to unharvested areas in various regions. Nevertheless, according to our estimate, the final harvest will exceed 9 million tons. In these conditions, we consider the launch of our new processing plant in the Kursk region to be very timely, which this season will be able to add almost 1 million tons to processing capacities," says Mramornov. Other market participants also intend to increase processing volumes, which, according to Sodruzhestvo's estimate, will allow processing up to 8 million tons of soybeans this year, he adds. This will make it possible to significantly increase the export potential of meal and oils from Russia, while maintaining the added value of processing within the country.
