The Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries of the European Union have agreed to set total allowable catch (TAC) limits for certain fish species in the Baltic Sea, focusing on by-catch species such as western herring, eastern cod, and western cod. They have also implemented measures to address environmental concerns and support the preservation and rebuilding of fish stocks in the region. Additionally, restrictions have been placed on recreational salmon fishing, limiting anglers to retaining only one adipose fin-clipped salmon per day.
