Lake Iznik, one of Turkey's largest fresh water resources and located in Bursa, has seen a rise in water levels due to recent rains and snow melts, following a period of seasonal drought. The lake, spreading over approximately 300 square kilometers and reaching a depth of 65 meters, is vital for tourism, agriculture, and fishing, supporting 27 fish species and providing an annual export of 300 thousand tons from fisheries. Despite the recent rise, concerns remain about the lake's ability to refill completely due to ongoing environmental challenges, threatening the livelihoods of hundreds of families in the region.
