Vietnam saw a 3% increase in seafood exports to the UK in the first October, totaling nearly 272 million USD, with vannamei shrimp and pangasius being the primary exports. Despite a 9% decrease in whiteleg shrimp exports, pangasius exports experienced a growth of nearly 32%, with October exports to the UK surging by 60%, reaching 4.7 million. Pangasius accounted for 2.5% of Vietnam's total pangasius exports in the first 10 months of the year, with frozen pangasius fillets being the majority. The UK, struggling with inflation and economic challenges, is experiencing a cost-of-living crisis, leading to a shift towards cheaper food products. Pangasius, being a relatively inexpensive seafood option, is expected to find favor in the market, especially with the benefits of the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
