The Vietnam Fruit Festival in Beijing highlighted the surging demand for tropical fruits in the northern Chinese market, particularly for high-quality products. Yongxin Heng Chang Co., Ltd. is planning to increase its import of Vietnamese bananas from the current 30% to 50%-60%, given the competitive pricing and quality improvements desired by Chinese consumers. Similarly, Beijing Freshcare International Trading Co., Ltd. is looking to source more durians from Vietnam to meet the large demand in China. The Ministry of Industry and Trade in Vietnam is actively promoting Vietnamese fruit exports to China, which have seen significant growth with the potential to reach a record $5 billion this year. The festival served as a platform for Vietnamese businesses to understand the Chinese market and improve production methods to better cater to Chinese consumers' quality expectations.
