Vietnam is focusing on improving the quality and international standards of its key fruit exports, such as durian, lychee, and dragon fruit, to expand its market reach. Bac Giang province is enhancing lychee exports through international cooperation and logistical improvements, while Binh Thuan province is diversifying its dragon fruit markets amid competition from China. Despite efforts to enter new markets like the Middle East and India, Vietnamese fruit exports face challenges due to supply chain disruptions and the limited capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises. State support in trade promotion is essential, and currently, eight types of Vietnamese fresh fruits, including dragon fruit and lychee, are permitted for import into the US under strict phytosanitary conditions.
