Pedro Pablo Díaz, the president of Chile's Association of Processors and Exporters of Dried Plums (Chileprunes), has praised the success of Chilean dried plums in the Indian and Chinese markets. He emphasized the importance of meeting China's quality standards and the need to maintain quality to continue pleasing Chinese consumers. Despite the focus on China, Díaz also stressed the importance of traditional markets like Mexico, Germany, Poland, Italy, and Spain. He mentioned that Mexico is facing increased competition from the United States, but remains a stable market. Germany is a market where Chilean dried plums are expertly marketed with no competition, and Poland, Italy, and Spain are serious markets that value premium quality.
