Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of oranges in the world, responsible for about 70% of the juice exported globally. In the citrus belt of São Paulo and in the Triângulo/Southwestern region of Minas Gerais, the main hub of the activity in the country, citrus farming occupies about 358 thousand hectares, bringing together almost 7,500 producers, according to COGO Intelligence in Agribusiness. For the 2025/26 crop, the Citrus Defense Fund (Fundecitrus) estimates the harvest at 314.6 million boxes of 40.8 kg, an increase of 36% compared to the previous cycle.
