Durian traders in Limbang are struggling with limited and overcrowded hawker areas during the fruit season, leading to unsold and rotting produce. Many traders from rural areas depend on Tamu Buah and Tamu Khamis markets, but the congestion forces some to sell by the roadside or at the Old Limbang Bus Station. They are urging the government and local authorities to expand trading areas and improve facilities to handle the seasonal influx of fruit and buyers, especially from Brunei. The Limbang Malay Association is also pushing for more business facilities and considering using their area as a temporary trading site.
