According to recently published data from Rosstat, in 2024, grape consumption in the Zabaikalsky Krai increased by 55.6%, to 2.8 kg per capita. This is the highest growth rate among the regions not only of the Far Eastern Federal District but also of the entire Russia. In the Far Eastern Federal District, more grapes (3.5 kg per person) were consumed only in the Primorsky Krai. This is due to the expansion of the product range. As reported earlier by Rosselkhoznadzor, at the end of 2024, through the Zabaikalsk automobile checkpoint, significant quantities of unusual grapes, the "Shayne Muscat" variety, began to arrive from China. A significant increase in grape consumption in 2024 among the regions of the district was also recorded in the Amur Oblast (by 14.3% compared to the 2023 level) and Primorsky Krai (by 12.9%).
