Transparency International Madagascar has filed submissions with France's national financial prosecutor and Madagascar's anti-graft court, alleging corruption in the country's lychee industry. The organization believes that French companies and other local organizations are involved, leading to a situation where the majority of profits from the lychee trade are controlled by a few powerful individuals, leaving thousands of small-scale producers and collectors short-changed. The group is urging both countries to launch an investigation and take action to address the issue and ensure fair practices in the sector.
