Transitional national aid is the only financial instrument in the tobacco sector in the current CAP. In the current program period of 2023 - 2027, it is a vital tool that is established as an intervention in Bulgaria's Strategic Plan and provides stability and security to 9,000 families of Bulgarian tobacco producers. This was shared by Tsvetan Filev, Chairman of the National Association of Tobacco Producers NAT 2010, for Agri.BG during the annual seminar of grain producers. Besides Bulgaria, several other countries have the opportunity to use transitional national aid in the current CAP, including Poland and Hungary. "We have like-minded countries with which we are working together in the already underway European debate on the future CAP 2028 - 2034, and we are focusing the attention of all institutions, including Bulgarian and European ones, that transitional national aid should be continued in the next program period," says Filev, and he points out three important focuses for ...
