Turkey is the world leader in fig production, with a volume of 310,000 tons in 2019, followed by Egypt and Morocco. The top five fig-producing countries are followed by Spain, Syria, and the United States. Saudi Arabia, Austria, the United Arab Emirates, and Spain are the leading fig exporters, while the Netherlands is the largest importer of figs, despite not being in the top ten producing countries. Germany, France, Austria, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates round out the top five importers.
