Turkey's wheat, barley, and corn production is expected to decrease in the 2024/25 marketing year due to drier than normal conditions during the growing season. Despite this decline, the country has large carryover stocks of wheat and barley from the previous year. To reduce these excess stocks, the Turkish government has implemented various measures. In response to water scarcity, the government has launched a program to promote the cultivation of less water-intensive crops in drought-stricken areas.
