Turkey's 2023/24 hazelnut production season ended with good results, with exports reaching 303,458 metric tons and valued at $2.349 billion, a 30.9% increase from the previous season. The country exported to 130 countries and expects to reach a minimum of 300,000 metric tons in the current 2024/25 season. The Chinese market plays a significant role in these exports, with an 11.6% year-on-year increase in the value of Turkey's exports to China from January to July of this year. The United States also continues to lead in global exports of in-shell hazelnuts, despite a decrease in its exports, while the price received by U.S. producers slightly increased due to reduced global exports of hazelnuts between the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
