Two agricultural giants buy the shares of Frigorífico Concepción in Upisa

Paraguay: The Colonias Unidas Cooperative and the Oleaginosas Raatz company have purchased 25% of the shares of Upisa (Unión de Productores de Itapúa SA), belonging to the Frigorífico Concepción. The estimated amount of the sale would be around USD 24 million and the shares will be distributed in equal percentages. The officialization will be made in the coming weeks, according to sources from the business sector who spoke with LPO. This is one of the most important operations in the agricultural sector in recent years, especially for the pork sector, which has been experiencing exponential growth driven by increased productivity and the opening of new markets for the export of pork to different destinations around the world.
