In August, Ukraine reduced sunflower oil exports to 150,000 tons, which was the lowest monthly volume in over three years and the second lowest monthly figure in the last 14 seasons. The reduction occurred across all major supply routes, with no shipments to India at all. The decrease in export rates is due to seasonal factors, including a reduction in sunflower harvest and its supply in the domestic market, which reduced the volume and margin of processing, as well as a decrease in demand from some importers in anticipation of cheaper oil supplies from the new harvest raw materials. Overall, in the 2024/25 marketing year, Ukraine exported 4.73 million tons of sunflower oil, which is 24% less than the previous season's figure and is the lowest level of the last three seasons.
