By May 2, 2025, Ukrainian farmers have sown 3.25 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, with corn being the most extensively planted at 1,919.3 thousand hectares. The regions leading in sowing rates are Poltava, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy. Industrial crops, including sunflower, soybeans, and sugar beets, cover 3,432 thousand hectares. The total planned sowing area for 2025 is 5.7 million hectares, consistent with 2024 levels, with an increase in spring wheat to 227.5 thousand hectares due to stable demand from processing enterprises and exporters.
