A draft law in Ukraine aimss to improve the quality of food products consumed by children by making amendments to several existing laws. The bill, which has received support from 293 people's representatives, proposes to ban the use of palm oil, hydrogenated palm oil, and certain other ingredients in the production of dairy products, baby food, and other food items. It also sets maximum trans fatty acid content in food products and requires market operators to disclose the amount of trans fatty acids in products to other manufacturers. The law also imposes fines on legal entities and individuals for violations.
