Forty million tons: this is the quantity of grain exported by Ukraine since the start of the 2022-2023 campaign. A huge performance, given the logistical constraints that the country has suffered since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, and the blocking of ports. "Before the war, 98% of grain export flows were by sea," recalls Jean-François Lépy, Managing Director of Soufflet Négoce. Very quickly, the flows were reorganized so that exports were made via land corridors, by train, truck or boat on the rivers. To date, nearly 20 million tonnes of grain have been exported via these alternative flows.
